What are the Licensing Requirements to Work as a Veterinarian in New York State?

To work as a veterinarian anywhere in New York State, you must be licensed and meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Meet the education, examinations and experience requirements.
  • Have a good moral character.

Applications must be submitted with the appropriate fee to the Office of the Professions. Veterinarians who meet the conditions will be licensed to practice in the state.
