An Associate Veterinarian diagnoses illness, performs surgery and gives owners valuable advice on animal aftercare. They’re employed by veterinary clinics or practices to provide treatment rather than owning and operating their own practice.

Associate Veterinarian duties include:

  • Examination and diagnosis.
  • Treatment of injuries, disorders and diseases.

In the UK a vet surgeon with 2 – 10 years’ experience will likely earn between £37,000 – £55,000  ($46,668 – $69,400).

Of course, associate veterinarians can earn more depending on what fields they specialise in with possibilities to work in multiple sectors such as equine, small animal and farm.
