Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to serve as the clinical leader of a modern primary and urgent care setting. This role is ideal for a confident veterinarian who enjoys combining hands-on medicine with mentoring, team development, protocol implementation and responsibility for maintaining consistently high standards of patient care.
The successful candidate will continue to practise clinically while guiding Associate Veterinarians through coaching, case discussions and regular feedback. The position also involves close collaboration with the Clinic Manager, responsibility for doctor scheduling, support with recruitment, client experience and performance improvement, and the opportunity to influence clinical protocols and future service development. There are no overnight shifts or on-call requirements.
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary qualification
- Current New York veterinary licence or eligibility to obtain one
- DEA and applicable controlled-substance credentials where required
- Approximately 3–5+ years of clinical veterinary experience preferred
- At least one year of leadership experience preferred
