Job Description: Our Client is seeking a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team and contribute to the consulting or surgery rota. A full driving license is required for commuting between the main hospital and 2 branch surgeries.
The role is located 14 minutes East of Ipswich
Their caseload comprises small animal cases, including dentistry (with dental X-ray), basic orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, imaging (digital X-ray, new ultrasound machine, and endoscopy), medicine, and laparoscopic surgery.
They prioritise work/life balance, offering flexible working patterns tailored to individual lifestyles. Whether candidates seek to adjust rota hours for school holidays, accommodate school runs, or balance home and work life, they provide flexible options.
The number of days and hours per week can be adjusted based on the candidate’s suitability. Shifts typically run from 08:30 to 18:30, with early and late shifts occurring between 8 am and 7 pm. Weekend work may be required, depending on weekly hours. Full-time vets currently work one Saturday in five, from 8 am to 12:30 pm, with no out-of-hours responsibilities.
Their practice features a tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital and two consulting-only branches. Their hospital includes three consulting rooms, two operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, an imaging room, an ICU, isolation, separate dog and cat wards, and a spacious prep area. It is equipped with laparoscopic equipment, dental radiography, a new ultrasound machine, and standard tier 3 hospital equipment.
Their setting offers a blend of town and rural environments, with easy access to nearby amenities.
Joining their friendly and supportive team, candidates will work alongside Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses, and various support staff. Their veterinary team includes certificate holders in Surgery, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Imaging, and Cardiology, with a focus on maintaining clinical standards, infection prevention control, and reducing antibiotic usage. They encourage CPD and career progression.
