Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Bath, Somerset, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Bath, Somerset, England – Imaging interest

Job Details: Are you a Vet with an interest in imaging looking for a new opportunity? Our client are excited to welcome a new member to their team!

They are a thriving two-site practice nestled in the picturesque city of Bath. They extend the warmth of family to their clients and their beloved pets. Their ethos revolves around providing top-notch clinical care within a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.

Their scheduling is designed for optimal efficiency and care. With 15-minute consultation slots, they maintain a pleasantly paced schedule of 3 consultations booked, interspersed with a consult gap and a generous 2-hour break in the middle of the day. This allows ample time for reporting results, thorough case work-ups, and even a well-deserved lunch and cup of tea! For those opting for surgery, it’s a full operating day from 8 am to 5 pm. Their seasoned nurses, particularly skilled in surgery and anaesthesia, provide invaluable support during busy operating days.

Our client’s team of veterinarians boasts diverse interests spanning surgery, medicine, and dermatology. While they offer a reasonable level of abdominal ultrasonography, they are committed to enhancing their capabilities in echocardiography and eagerly welcome colleagues with skills and interests in this area. Support, mentorship, and career progression are integral parts of their ethos; they are dedicated to nurturing the growth of early-career professionals.

Despite being a compact team, they pride ourselves on evidence-based, step-wise in-house case work-ups. While some of the more complex cases may necessitate specialist referral, our client strive to complete as much of the work-up ourselves, collaborating within the team and with local Certificate holders as needed. Moreover, they believe in following through with cases beyond their practice, both for their own development and to provide consistency to their clients.

The practice is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital and dental x-ray machines, in-house laboratory capabilities covering biochemistry and haematology, ultrasound equipment with abdominal and cardiac probes, as well as ECG leads.

Our client are open to both full and part-time arrangements, with full-time comprising a four-day workweek and 1:5 Saturdays for consults only from 9 am to 3 pm. Ideally, candidates would possess 1-2 years of experience, though all enthusiastic applicants are encouraged to apply.

Package:

  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to an additional two weeks leave (pro rata)
  • Receive an extra day’s holiday each year, up to 5 years
  • RCVS & VDS fees paid
  • Visa sponsorship
  • Industry leading maternity, paternity and adoption leave
  • Hassle-free pension scheme with automatic enrolment
