Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse Job, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England

Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse Job, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England

Job Description:  Our client is seeking a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their well-established mixed practice.  Their main surgery is located just outside of a small market town, while their branch surgery is situated on the border, both nestled in the leafy countryside.

They are in search of a small animal nurse who finds fulfilment in all aspects of their role, spanning clinics, theatre, and patient care.

Regarding the rota, they continue to offer their Hours (OOH) service, which entails a 1 in-8-weekend rota with sleeping night duties on a rotational basis. To ensure a healthy work-life balance, they provide a 35-hour week, offsetting any unsocial hours incurred during OOH work. A typical week comprises five working days with flexible 7-hour shifts spanning from 7 am to 7.30 pm, including some weekday sleeping duty shifts, with accommodation provided. Additionally, they offer OOH retainer fees on top of the agreed-upon salary.

Bringing dogs to work is encouraged, and facilitated by staff kennels. This arrangement not only alleviates concerns about leaving pets at home during busy days but also allows for lunchtime excursions in the scenic countryside.

At their main branch, they boast outstanding facilities, including x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and a well-equipped laboratory. The practice also features cat, dog, and exotic kennels, along with separate isolation facilities and fenced paddock areas for inpatient exercise. The branch surgery, albeit smaller, maintains a strong client base and a familial atmosphere.

They are a training practice affiliated with a reputable institution, welcoming both degree and diploma students. With a team consisting of dedicated professionals, including Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, SA Vets, Equine Vets, and onsite Hydrotherapists and Physiotherapists, they foster a supportive environment. Encouraging professional growth, they support further training and development. Many nursing team members hold advanced certificates in various specialities, and they actively train nurses for the future, making the previous experience as a clinical coach advantageous.
