Job Description: Our client operates a bustling and long-standing 24-hour veterinary hospital, catering to the out-of-hour needs of surrounding practices. This hospital is equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including an orthopaedic theatre, digital x-ray, ECG, MRI, CT imaging, and more.
They are currently in search of an experienced and dedicated night nurse with a fervor for emergency and critical care, devoted to upholding a gold standard of service. Candidates with previous experience in a fast-paced practice or hospital environment will be given preference.
The position entails working 12-hour shifts, with 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off. The nurse will collaborate with a twilight RVN until midnight and provide on-call coverage until 7 am, with support from a second nurse on call.
Their clinics utilise identical software, ensuring comprehensive access to patient histories at all times and maintaining the continuity of cases.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consistent delivery of exceptional care to clients.
- Supporting surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post-procedure activities.
- Carrying out nurse-led appointments and scheduling 3 activities.
- Delivering patient monitoring and care.
- Managing admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Completing patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
- Dispensing and checking medication.
- Delivering professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
- Holding briefings to engage and coordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Our client is seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Being a registered Veterinary Nurse with RCVS.
- Demonstrating experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Showing proficiency in working effectively as part of a team.
- Having experience in supporting Nurse consults and understanding their contribution to practice performance and efficiency.
- Utilising coaching and influencing skills to maximise the performance of every colleague.
