Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established companion animal hospital in Belmont, New South Wales. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys modern general practice, real clinical autonomy, strong team support, and the chance to develop further in surgery and orthopaedic case work.

The hospital has cared for pets across the Greater Newcastle area for more than 50 years and combines a trusted community reputation with modern veterinary facilities. With dental X-rays, Vet-Tome, tonometer, video otoscope, rigid endoscopy, ultrasound, and a full orthopaedic setup including TPLO, this role offers excellent clinical variety with mentorship from an experienced orthopaedic surgeon.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing small animal consultations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and preventative care
  • Performing routine surgery and supporting more advanced procedures where appropriate
  • Developing skills in orthopaedic case work with experienced mentorship available
  • Using modern diagnostic and surgical equipment to support patient outcomes
  • Building strong client relationships through clear communication and compassionate care

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
  • Current or eligible veterinary registration in New South Wales
  • Ideally three or more years of clinical veterinary experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Positive, team-focused attitude with a desire to continue developing professionally
