Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Wythall, West Midlands, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Wythall, West Midlands, England

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a well-established first-opinion practice, with full-time hours available and part-time flexibility also considered. This role would suit a vet who wants a balanced working pattern, a varied mix of consulting and operating, and the chance to develop clinical interests in a supportive small animal setting.

The position offers a 4-day week with no out-of-hours requirement, minimal bank holiday commitment, and access to useful diagnostic facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, and CT access nearby. With a development-focused team and a practical rota structure, this is a strong opportunity for a vet looking for stability, support, and continued clinical growth.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing small animal consultations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Carrying out routine surgical work through a dedicated weekly operating shift
  • Responding calmly to urgent cases that arise during normal clinical hours
  • Working closely with nurses and support colleagues to keep care well coordinated
  • Building positive client relationships through clear and reassuring communication

Qualifications Needed:

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK
  • Confident small animal GP experience across consulting, diagnostics, and surgery
  • Comfortable working within a collaborative first-opinion team
  • Strong communication skills with a practical and caring approach to client service
  • Interest in CPD or developing a specific clinical area would be welcomed

Package:

  • 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota
  • No out-of-hours duties required
  • Minimal bank holiday commitment
  • Full-time role working 40 hours across 4 days
  • Part-time and flexible applications also considered
  • Planned rota mix of operating and consulting shifts
  • Digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house lab access
  • Nearby CT access available when required
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid in full
  • Generous CPD allowance with funded postgraduate study options
