Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive first-opinion setting offering either full-time or part-time hours. The position provides a varied medical and surgical caseload alongside the freedom to develop individual clinical interests. With experienced certificate-holding veterinarians and skilled nursing support available, this opportunity would suit a clinician looking to broaden their general practice experience or progress towards a particular area of expertise.
The clinical facilities include a fully equipped operating theatre, dental radiography, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory, alongside dedicated rehabilitation resources including an underwater treadmill, therapeutic laser and physiotherapy services. The caseload also incorporates surgical, dentistry and rehabilitation referrals in addition to routine first-opinion work. A shared out-of-hours rota of approximately 1-in-6 forms part of the position and is supported by the nursing team.
Qualifications Needed:
- MRCVS registration with previous small animal clinical experience
- Confidence managing routine medical and surgical cases independently
- An interest in developing further clinical skills or a specific area of expertise
- Strong communication skills and a cooperative approach to case management
- Suitable post-graduate experience, as this position is not intended for a new graduate
