Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Wickford, Essex, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Wickford, Essex, England

Job Description: Our client is seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join an established small animal setting on a flexible part-time basis. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a varied caseload encompassing dogs, cats, rabbits, poultry and other small mammals, making it particularly appealing to someone who enjoys diversity in everyday clinical practice. With an emphasis on individualised treatment, preventative medicine and strong client relationships, the successful candidate will have the freedom to develop their clinical confidence while delivering attentive and consistent patient care.

The position provides access to practical diagnostic facilities, including an in-house laboratory, ultrasound imaging, radiography and dedicated dental equipment. An experienced clinical team comprising veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, student nurses and veterinary care assistants creates an encouraging environment for shared learning and effective case management. Regular mentorship and opportunities to explore further clinical interests make this a rewarding option for a practitioner who values professional growth without compromising personal commitments.

Package:

  • Part-time working arrangements offering flexibility to accommodate individual availability and personal commitments
  • Professional registration expenses covered, including RCVS, VDS and BVA subscriptions
  • Opportunities for funded clinical certifications and continued advancement in areas of veterinary interest
  • Life assurance benefits providing financial protection equivalent to three times annual earnings
  • An additional paid personal day with the possibility of extended career breaks following qualifying service
  • Access to comprehensive private medical insurance and a healthcare cash plan from the commencement of employment
  • Five weeks of annual holiday plus bank holidays, with proportional entitlement for part-time hours and increases linked to service
  • Annual CPD funding of £1,500 and three paid educational days, subject to applicable part-time adjustments
  • Commuter assistance through bicycle purchase arrangements and public transport season ticket benefits
  • Confidential counselling support available around the clock alongside further employee wellbeing services
