Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Thornton Heath, London, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Thornton Heath, London, England

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a well-established first-opinion setting offering a varied clinical workload and a supportive team environment. This role is available on either a permanent or fixed-term basis and can be structured on a full-time or part-time arrangement to suit individual availability.

The position provides a balanced mix of consultations and routine surgical work, with scope to manage cases independently while maintaining a strong standard of patient-focused care. Confidence with everyday procedures is essential, alongside a calm and organised approach when working sole charge during designated periods.

This opportunity would suit a veterinarian who values continuity of care, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and is motivated by working within a close-knit clinical team where collaboration, communication, and clinical development are actively encouraged.

Qualifications Needed:

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK
  • Proven experience within small animal general practice
  • Confidence handling routine surgery and consultations independently
  • A compassionate and professional approach to client communication
  • Willingness to participate in a shared Saturday rota when required

Package:

  • Flexible working arrangements across full-time or part-time schedules
  • Permanent or fixed-term contract options available
  • Structured weekday shifts allowing consistency in weekly planning
  • Shared Saturday rota with no out-of-hours or on-call duties
  • Annual CPD allowance with additional paid study leave
  • Support for ongoing clinical training and skill development
  • Paid professional memberships and indemnity cover included
  • Access to internal development pathways and progression support
  • Staff discounts on veterinary services
  • Company-supported sick pay and annual salary review structure
