Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a busy 24-hour hospital with a diverse and challenging caseload. This full-time opportunity is particularly well suited to a clinician with an interest in internal medicine, endoscopy and/or diagnostic imaging, with support available for those who already hold a certificate or would like to work towards one.
The successful candidate will work across consultations, procedures and complex case management, with exposure to CT imaging and advanced surgery in a fast-paced hospital environment. The position is structured across 40 hours over four days with a 1-in-6 weekend rota, offering regular collaboration with an experienced clinical team and strong opportunities for continued professional development.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consultations, procedures and complex medical cases across a varied hospital caseload
- Preparing clear, individualised treatment plans and communicating progress effectively with clients
- Supporting clinical handovers and arranging onward care for patients requiring enhanced or out-of-hours treatment
- Contributing to the development of nursing teams and supporting appropriate nurse-led clinical activity
- Sharing clinical knowledge and helping maintain consistently high standards of care
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with solid post-qualification experience
- Strong interest or experience in internal medicine, endoscopy and/or diagnostic imaging
- Confident working within a busy hospital environment and multidisciplinary team
- Clinical leadership capability with strong communication and mentoring skills
- Certificate holder preferred, or willingness to work towards further qualifications
