Job Description: Our client is seeking a part-time Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a recently refurbished first-opinion practice offering genuine clinical autonomy and scope to help shape the direction of the caseload. This opportunity is ideal for an MRCVS who values flexibility, enjoys working within a close-knit team and wants the freedom to develop particular clinical interests over time.
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced nursing and support team in a bright, modern setting equipped with two large consultation rooms, theatre, preparation area, ultrasound, x-ray and separate canine and feline kennels. The rota includes some weekend work at a nearby 24-hour hospital, a light on-call commitment of around one week per year and approximately one to two Bank Holidays annually on a pro-rated basis. There is also potential for future partnership progression.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing consultations, treatment planning and routine surgical cases
- Providing clear, compassionate communication throughout each patient journey
- Working independently while collaborating closely with the wider clinical team
- Helping develop the caseload and contributing ideas around future clinical focus
- Maintaining high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance
