Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Langley, Berkshire, England

Small Animal Vet Surgeon Job, Langley, Berkshire, England

Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a refurbished first-opinion practice where there is genuine scope to influence the future direction of the caseload and clinical offering. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an MRCVS who values clinical autonomy, collaborative working and the chance to develop individual areas of interest within a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse, a part-time veterinarian and dedicated support staff. The practice offers two spacious consultation rooms, a theatre, preparation area, ultrasound, x-ray and separate canine and feline kennels. The rota includes some weekend work at a nearby 24-hour hospital, a light on-call commitment of approximately one week per year and around one to two Bank Holidays annually. There is also potential for future partnership progression.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing consultations, treatment plans and routine surgical cases across a varied first-opinion caseload
  • Working with clinical autonomy while maintaining close collaboration with veterinary and nursing colleagues
  • Helping shape the future caseload and contributing ideas around service development
  • Providing clear, compassionate communication to clients throughout each patient journey
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical care, compliance and professional practice

Qualifications Needed:

  • Qualified MRCVS with a strong commitment to first-opinion veterinary care
  • Confident across consultations and routine surgery
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
  • Interest in developing clinical services and personal areas of expertise
  • Flexibility to participate in limited weekend, on-call and Bank Holiday duties

Package:

  • Full-time position with flexibility in working arrangements
  • Five weeks of annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Additional paid personal day each year
  • £1,500 annual CPD allowance with three paid CPD days
  • Funded certificate opportunities and continued clinical development
  • Private medical insurance and health cash plan from day one
  • Life assurance at three times salary
  • RCVS, VDS and BVA professional fees paid
  • Potential future partnership opportunity
  • Cycle to Work and season ticket loan options
