This position is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys continuity of care and values building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

The role is primarily consult-focused, supported by minor surgical work and appropriate triage of urgent cases. It offers the opportunity to work with a loyal client base while maintaining a calm, organised workflow suited to an experienced GP who prefers autonomy with dependable clinical backup available when needed.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing first-opinion consultations with clear diagnostic planning

  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
  • Making appropriate referral decisions when cases require escalation
  • Supporting smooth daily practice operations alongside nursing colleagues

Qualifications Needed:

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK
  • Previous experience within small animal general practice
  • Confidence working in a sole-charge environment
  • Strong communication and client-care skills
  • A reliable and well-organised clinical approach

Package:

  • Four-day working week offering consistency and balance
  • Sole-charge role with structured regional clinical support
  • Shared weekend rota arranged in advance
  • Access to internal clinical guidance and case discussion
  • Annual CPD allowance with paid study leave
  • Opportunities for continued professional development
  • Generous annual leave entitlement including bank holidays
  • Support from nearby practices and hospital facilities
  • Stable rota structure designed for long-term sustainability
