Job Description: Our client is seeking a confident Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a well-established first-opinion setting on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys building lasting client relationships while having the autonomy to shape their own caseload within a supportive clinical environment.

The position offers a balanced mix of consultations and routine surgical work, supported by an experienced senior colleague and a capable nursing team. It provides an excellent opportunity for a vet who values consistency, enjoys continuity of care, and prefers a structured working pattern that allows time outside of practice commitments.

This role would particularly suit a clinician who is comfortable working independently during the week, enjoys developing their own client base, and appreciates the reassurance of strong regional and hospital-level clinical support when required.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering first-opinion consultations with clear diagnostic and treatment planning  
  • Carrying out routine surgical procedures within personal competence  
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant clinical records  
  • Making appropriate referral decisions when cases require escalation  
  • Contributing positively to a respectful and collaborative team culture  

Qualifications Needed:

  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK  
  • Experience within small animal general practice preferred  
  • Confidence working independently within a GP environment  
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues  
  • A calm, organised, and reliable clinical approach
