Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a welcoming first-opinion practice with a loyal client base and a broad mix of medical and surgical cases. The position offers clinical ownership across consultations, treatment planning and routine procedures, with modern diagnostics and access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for more complex cases.
This role would suit a veterinarian who enjoys managing cases independently while still having strong support available for further development. Certificate study and continued CPD are actively encouraged, and the successful candidate will also contribute to weekend hospital cover on a 1 in 6 basis alongside participation in the on-call rota.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Take responsibility for patient care across consultations, diagnostics and surgery
- Create clear treatment plans and keep clients informed throughout each case
- Maintain accurate clinical standards and support safe day-to-day practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues while referring more advanced cases when appropriate
- Contribute to weekend and on-call cover as part of the wider rota
Qualifications Needed:
- MRCVS registration with confidence in small animal first-opinion practice
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage routine medical and surgical cases independently
- Commitment to high clinical standards and regulatory compliance
- Interest in continued development through CPD or certificate study
