Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Out-of-Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal emergency service on an annualised-hours contract. This role would suit a confident clinician who enjoys overnight urgent care, varied emergency presentations, and the autonomy to manage medical and surgical cases during quieter but clinically important hours.
The position offers a balanced part-time pattern, with one working week followed by several weeks away from the rota. You will be part of a multidisciplinary hospital environment with emergency facilities, supportive colleagues, and access to ongoing clinical development for vets looking to strengthen their ECC skills.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing out-of-hours consultations, emergency cases, and urgent procedures
- Leading medical and surgical decision-making during overnight shifts
- Carrying out diagnostic investigations with accuracy and confidence
- Supporting colleagues through clear communication and practical case guidance
- Helping maintain consistent standards across patient care and client updates
Package:
- Annualised-hours contract with part-time overnight shifts
- Approximate 22.75 hours per week across the rota
- One week on followed by 3 to 4 weeks off
- Shift pattern of 7pm to 8am with a 1-hour break
