Job Description: Our client is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital managing a broad range of advanced surgical referrals. The successful candidate will have access to extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing and comprehensive rehabilitation facilities.
The surgeon will work alongside experienced specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, neurology and dermatology, together with a skilled emergency team, allowing for collaborative management of complex and challenging cases. This position also offers leadership potential for a specialist interested in contributing to clinical standards, mentoring colleagues and supporting the continued development of surgical services.
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary institution
- Completion of a one-year rotating internship encompassing small animal medicine, surgery and emergency care
- Completion of a three-year AVMA-approved surgical residency program
- Current state veterinary license with DEA registration obtained and maintained as required
- Board certification preferred, with two to five years of post-residency experience considered advantageous
