Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a dedicated out-of-hours night team in County Durham. This part-time opportunity is suited to a vet with an interest in ECC work, inpatient care, and emergency case management, with a rota pattern of 7 continuous shifts followed by 3 weeks off.
The role offers access to a well-equipped small animal practice with in-house laboratory facilities, digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, hydrotherapy, and planned CT capability. With certificate holders across varied disciplines and support for further training, this position provides a strong environment for a vet looking to build confidence and skill in emergency and critical care.
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon or eligibility to register
- Experience or strong interest in emergency and critical care work
- Confidence managing out-of-hours cases, inpatients, and urgent presentations
- Clear communication skills with clients, colleagues, and support staff
- Calm, practical approach to night work and clinical decision-making
Package:
- Part-time out-of-hours role with a 1 week on, 3 weeks off rota

- Salary up to £43,000 per year, depending on experience
