Job Description: Our client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a highly experienced small animal team delivering both first-opinion and advanced clinical care. The position is suitable for vets at different stages of their careers, from newly qualified clinicians seeking structured support through to experienced professionals looking to develop their interests further.
The successful candidate will have exposure to a broad and stimulating caseload, with opportunities spanning routine medicine and surgery through to more advanced procedures. Excellent facilities include CT imaging, ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy, alongside access to services such as neurosurgery, orthopaedics, minimally invasive procedures and chemotherapy.
Working arrangements can be shaped around individual circumstances, with full-time, part-time and weekend-focused options considered. Weekend participation forms part of the rota, typically on a 1-in-2 basis for full-time vets or 1-in-4 for part-time colleagues.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Work up varied medical cases thoroughly while maintaining high clinical standards
- Undertake routine surgical procedures with appropriate confidence and care
- Contribute effectively to the management of both general and more complex caseloads
- Collaborate closely with experienced veterinary and nursing colleagues
- Deliver attentive, professional care to patients and their owners
Qualifications Needed:
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon eligible for RCVS registration
- Strong commitment to delivering excellent standards of veterinary medicine
- Ability to communicate effectively and contribute positively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Confidence with routine medical and surgical work, or enthusiasm to develop these capabilities with support
