Job Description: Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Part‑Time Veterinary Nurse to join a committed clinical team at a well‑regarded small animal practice in Tuggeranong, located within the South Point shopping precinct in Canberra’s southern suburbs. This role is suited to a nurse who enjoys working across both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house duties, assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures, patient monitoring and diagnostic tasks while helping to deliver supportive and compassionate care to pets and their owners. Our Vet Tuggeranong is a purpose‑built veterinary service located inside a popular retail setting and operates primarily Monday to Friday with a focus on providing excellent clinical care and client service. The nurse role plays a key part in upholding patient wellbeing, supporting smooth daily operations, and ensuring both patients and pet parents feel confident in the care provided by the clinic team.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with surgical preparation, anaesthetic monitoring and post‑operative care
- Administering medications and performing routine medical checks
- Running diagnostic tests using in‑house lab equipment and imaging tools
- Supporting veterinarians during consultations and treatments
- Delivering excellent client service and handling inquiries professionally
Qualifications Needed:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification
- Experience in surgical support, anaesthetic monitoring and general nursing duties
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records and clinic documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and client communication ability
- Commitment to teamwork and high standards of animal care
