Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to step into a primarily clinical leadership role within a well-established companion animal hospital. This position combines advanced clinical responsibilities with a focused leadership component, allowing you to shape medical standards while continuing to practise hands-on veterinary medicine. The role would suit a senior veterinarian who thrives in complex case management and enjoys mentoring colleagues.
Approximately five to ten percent of your time will be dedicated to Medical Director duties, supporting clinical governance, guiding standards of care, and fostering a high-performing environment. The majority of your schedule will remain patient-facing, managing advanced internal medicine cases, surgery, and dentistry. Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Eligible for licensure in British Columbia
- Seven or more years of small animal clinical experience
- Advanced proficiency in surgery, dentistry, and complex case management
- Previous leadership, mentorship, or practice management experience preferred
