Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to lead clinical excellence within a long-established companion animal hospital. This position blends strategic oversight with active case management, giving you the opportunity to shape medical standards while maintaining a meaningful presence in daily patient care. The hospital supports a wide range of services including preventative health programs, advanced diagnostics, surgical procedures, and urgent presentations, offering a strong foundation for leadership in both medicine and operations.

You will work closely with hospital leadership to strengthen team engagement, refine workflows, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care. The role is suited to a confident clinician who enjoys mentoring colleagues, guiding medical discussions, and contributing to operational planning while continuing to practice hands-on veterinary medicine.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with active state licensure  
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in small animal practice  
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support associate development  
  • Strong communication and organizational skills  
  • Interest in hospital performance metrics and operational strategy  

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and upholding hospital-wide clinical protocols  
  • Coaching veterinarians through regular performance discussions  
  • Collaborating with management on budgeting and growth planning  
  • Leading medical team meetings to enhance quality and efficiency  
  • Serving as a representative of the hospital within the community
