Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to lead a well-established companion animal hospital with a loyal client base and a broad clinical offering. The role combines hands-on veterinary work with responsibility for mentoring colleagues, maintaining strong medical standards and helping guide the continued development of the practice.
The caseload includes preventive medicine, dentistry, surgery, urgent care and complementary services such as acupuncture, laser therapy and nutritional counselling. This position would suit a veterinarian who enjoys variety, values team development and wants to balance clinical work with genuine leadership responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in day-to-day patient care
- Mentor veterinary colleagues and support ongoing professional development
- Help maintain high medical standards across consultations, procedures and treatment planning
- Contribute to practice growth and the ongoing development of clinical services
- Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication and compassionate care
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM degree or equivalent veterinary qualification
- Eligible for veterinary licensure in Ontario
- Strong leadership and mentoring capability
