Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to provide clinical leadership while remaining actively engaged in patient care. This role is designed for an experienced veterinarian who is motivated to elevate medical standards, mentor associates, and cultivate a cohesive, growth-oriented hospital culture. You will play a central role in shaping both clinical outcomes and team development.

Balancing leadership with hands-on medicine, you will guide case discussions, support complex diagnostics, and drive continuous improvement in service quality. The hospital emphasizes collaborative medicine, ensuring that you have access to advanced resources while fostering a strong, communicative team environment focused on delivering comprehensive care.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing medical protocols and ensuring consistent clinical excellence  
  • Coaching and developing associate veterinarians through structured mentorship  
  • Partnering with hospital leadership to support operational and financial performance  
  • Leading regular medical meetings to review standards and introduce new initiatives  
  • Representing the hospital within the community and supporting recruitment efforts

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification  
  • Active veterinary license in Florida in good standing  
  • At least two years of clinical experience in small animal practice  
  • Proven ability to guide and inspire a veterinary team  
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
