Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to guide medical quality while maintaining an active role in clinical care. This leadership position is ideal for a veterinarian who values autonomy, enjoys mentoring colleagues, and is motivated to elevate standards across a collaborative small animal hospital. You will balance strategic oversight with hands-on medicine, ensuring both patients and team members thrive.

The caseload spans preventive services, advanced diagnostics, surgery, and urgent care, offering a dynamic clinical environment. In this role, you will foster professional growth within the veterinary team, strengthen hospital performance in partnership with leadership, and champion consistent, evidence-based medical protocols that support long-term success.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical direction and oversight to associate veterinarians  
  • Coaching team members through structured performance and development discussions  
  • Partnering with hospital leadership to guide operational and financial outcomes  
  • Leading medical meetings to refine protocols and introduce service enhancements  
  • Supporting recruitment, mentorship, and community engagement initiatives

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree  
  • Active Florida veterinary license in good standing  
  • Minimum of two years of small animal clinical experience  
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative management style  
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
