Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Medical Director to lead a well-established companion animal hospital known for high clinical standards and a collaborative team environment. This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on veterinary care with leadership responsibility, guiding medical protocols and supporting continued hospital growth.
The hospital provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for dogs and cats. Advanced diagnostic capabilities include ultrasound, digital general and dental radiography, endoscopy, and a well-equipped in-house laboratory. Supported by an experienced leadership team and tenured technical staff, the Medical Director will foster medical excellence, mentor associate veterinarians, and work alongside management to strengthen operational performance.
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
- Active California veterinary license in good standing
- DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain
- Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience for Medical Director consideration
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental proficiency
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
