Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to provide clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in day-to-day patient care. The position offers responsibility for guiding associate veterinarians, strengthening medical standards and supporting the development of a positive, high-performing clinical environment.
This opportunity would suit an experienced veterinarian who is comfortable mentoring colleagues and interested in the wider operational side of veterinary leadership. Alongside managing their own caseload, the successful candidate will help shape clinical protocols, lead doctor discussions, support professional development and work closely with the Practice Manager on hospital performance and regulatory standards.
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM degree with an active Illinois veterinary licence in good standing
- Minimum of two years of practical veterinary experience
- Strong coaching and mentoring ability with a collaborative leadership style
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Interest in developing knowledge of veterinary operations and financial management
