Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to join a full-service companion animal clinic in Englewood, Florida. The role combines hands-on small animal practice with medical leadership responsibilities, including coaching associate veterinarians, supporting patient care standards, contributing to hospital performance, and helping shape continued clinical growth. With a varied caseload across wellness, diagnostics, surgery, urgent care, and advanced treatment planning, this position offers a strong balance of clinical impact, leadership development, and client-focused medicine.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring associate veterinarians through regular coaching, feedback, and development support
- Practicing high-quality small animal medicine while setting clear clinical and client care standards
- Partnering with practice leadership to support hospital performance, workflow, and team engagement
- Guiding doctor meetings, medical protocols, best practices, and continuous clinical improvement
- Supporting mentorship, externship, recruitment, and community-facing professional initiatives
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent qualification
- Valid Florida veterinary license in good standing
- Minimum two years of practical clinical experience
- Strong communication skills with leadership, coaching, and relationship-building ability
- Interest in hospital operations, team development, and progressive small animal medicine
Package:
- Base salary from $130,000 to $150,000, based on experience
