Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Medical Director Veterinarian to lead a team of doctors while maintaining an active role in clinical care. The successful candidate will directly manage and develop a small team of veterinarians, contribute to recruitment and onboarding, oversee doctor scheduling and act as a senior clinical resource for escalated cases. The position also includes responsibility for medical protocols, controlled-substance compliance, service availability and performance oversight, alongside close collaboration with operational and nursing leadership.
Qualifications Needed:
- DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification with active Massachusetts licensure or eligibility
- DEA registration appropriate to the position
- Five or more years of veterinary experience
- Previous leadership experience managing or mentoring veterinarians
- Strong communication, organisation and clinical decision-making skills
