Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Medical Director to guide clinical standards while remaining hands-on in patient care within a busy small animal setting. This role blends leadership responsibility with day-to-day veterinary work, offering the opportunity to influence medical direction while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

The position focuses on fostering a collaborative clinical culture, supporting professional growth across the veterinary team, and ensuring consistent medical excellence. The Medical Director will work closely with operational leadership to align clinical performance, client experience, and team engagement.

Alongside leadership duties, this role continues to function clinically, allowing the Medical Director to remain actively involved in case management, client communication, and medical decision-making while shaping protocols and standards across the clinic.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding clinical standards to ensure consistent, high-level patient care
  • Supporting and coaching veterinarians through regular case collaboration and feedback
  • Facilitating productive clinical meetings that strengthen teamwork and communication
  • Partnering with operational leadership to resolve client concerns and workflow challenges
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of medical protocols

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent qualification
  • Active state veterinary license or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring veterinary teams
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
  • Comfort balancing clinical excellence with operational awareness
