Job Description: Our client is seeking a full-time Small Animal Medical Director to lead an established five-doctor, AAHA-accredited hospital in Blairstown. This role combines clinical leadership with an active caseload and offers the opportunity to influence medical standards, mentor colleagues, and support the continued development of a highly capable veterinary team.
The hospital manages a strong surgical workload alongside a broad mix of companion animal cases. There is also exposure to exotic species and occasional work connected with a local wolf preserve, creating a varied clinical environment for a veterinarian who enjoys both leadership and hands-on medicine.
The practice is equipped with in-house blood diagnostics, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, ECG, dental radiography, a high-speed dental unit, and fluid pumps. Located in semi-rural north-west New Jersey, the hospital offers a quieter community setting while remaining approximately one hour from New York City via Interstate 80.
Package:
- Annual Medical Director stipend and performance bonus.
- Signing and/or longevity bonus package available.
- Additional continuing education funding may be considered upon request.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees.
- Paid continuing education days with a standard CE allowance.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching.
- Paid parental leave, vacation leave, and sick leave.
- Access to advanced diagnostics including endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, and digital radiography.
- Extensive internal education and professional development resources.
- Mental health and financial wellbeing support.
- Opportunities to participate in veterinary clinical studies.
- Employee discounts on veterinary care and pet-related services.
- Full-time leadership position within an AAHA-accredited five-doctor hospital.
