Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to provide temporary clinical support during December 2026. This opportunity is based within a modern, purpose-built small animal setting where veterinary nurses work closely with veterinarians across consultations, procedures, diagnostics, surgery, and ongoing patient care.
The position would suit a confident and adaptable nurse who can integrate quickly into an established clinical team and provide reliable support during a busy seasonal period. The facilities support a broad range of medical, diagnostic and surgical work, offering the successful locum the opportunity to use their practical nursing skills across varied day-to-day cases.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist veterinarians with medical, diagnostic and surgical procedures
- Provide attentive nursing care to hospitalised and recovering patients
- Support surgical preparation, monitoring and day-to-day clinical workflows
- Help with in-house diagnostic procedures and general treatment requirements
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary and nursing team throughout the December cover period
Qualifications Needed:
- Recognised veterinary nursing qualification or equivalent practical experience
- Confidence working independently within a busy small animal environment
- Competence assisting with routine medical and surgical procedures
- Strong patient handling, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to join an established team and adapt quickly to existing clinical workflows
