Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Lead Veterinarian to join a long-standing, purpose-built clinic in Sunbury, Victoria. This part-time or full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who is ready to provide clinical leadership, mentor a supportive team, and help guide the ongoing success of a well-established community practice.
The role offers a mix of hands-on clinical work, team support, and operational oversight within a clinic caring for cats, dogs, birds, and other small companion animals. With a full IDEXX in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound, complete surgery and dental facilities, and a strong focus on preventive medicine, this position provides an excellent environment for a confident vet looking to step into or continue in a leadership role.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and mentoring veterinarians and veterinary nurses
- Managing consultations, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and preventive healthcare
- Overseeing day-to-day clinical standards, workflow, and patient care outcomes
- Supporting operational performance alongside the broader clinic team
- Building strong client relationships through clear communication and personalised care
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
- Current or eligible Veterinary Board registration in Victoria
- Ideally five or more years of clinical veterinary experience
- Previous lead role experience highly regarded but not essential
- Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and mentoring skills
Package:
- Four-day working week available
- Part-time or full-time Lead Veterinarian role available
- Minimum commitment of 60 hours per fortnight
- No after-hours and no on-call responsibilities
- Rotating Saturday morning roster may be required
