Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Lead Veterinarian to join a boutique-style companion animal clinic in Coolum, Queensland. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian ready to step into greater responsibility, or a senior GP vet beginning their leadership journey, who wants a supportive team, coastal lifestyle, and genuine work-life balance.
The role offers a varied small animal caseload across consultations, surgery, and team leadership within a close-knit clinic environment. You will lead a small team of one other veterinarian and two to three nurses, supported by operational leadership, with a four-day working week, no after-hours, and no on-call requirements.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership and supporting a positive, team-focused clinic culture
- Managing small animal consultations, diagnostics, surgery, and treatment planning
- Mentoring and guiding veterinarians and nurses in day-to-day clinical care
- Maintaining strong communication with clients through compassionate and clear advice
- Supporting efficient workflow, high patient care standards, and continued clinic growth
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
- Experience in a senior GP role highly regarded
- Strong clinical and surgical capability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Calm, compassionate, detail-focused approach with leadership ability
Package:
- Salary from $130,000 to $160,000, based on experience
- 12% superannuation included
- $10,000 sign-on bonus available
- Four-day working week across 38 hours
