Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Lead Vet position within a busy and community-focused clinic located in New Cross, London. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys leadership responsibilities while continuing to deliver high-quality clinical care.

Working within a modern practice supported by a wider veterinary network, you will oversee a varied caseload of consultations, medical treatments, and surgical procedures. The successful candidate will help guide clinical standards, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice while maintaining strong relationships with clients and patients.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consultations, diagnostics, and treatment for a diverse small animal caseload  
  • Carrying out surgical procedures and monitoring patient recovery  
  • Leading clinical discussions and supporting the professional development of team members  
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with clinical standards  
  • Communicating treatment plans, cost estimates, and preventative care advice to clients  
  • Collaborating with nurses and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations 

Qualifications Needed:

  • MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to practise in the United Kingdom  
  • Veterinary degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science from an accredited university  
  • Experience working in small animal general practice with surgical competence  
  • Confidence mentoring colleagues and contributing to clinical leadership  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a team environment
