Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a lead clinical position, combining hands-on small animal medicine and surgery with responsibility for maintaining excellent clinical standards. This role provides considerable clinical autonomy alongside the opportunity to influence day-to-day clinical decisions, mentor less experienced vets and help shape the continued development of the veterinary team.
The position can accommodate either full-time or part-time hours, with flexibility around the working pattern to support commitments outside of work. The rota includes only 1-in-4 Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm, with no Sunday or out-of-hours requirements. Further clinical interests are welcomed, with CPD and certificate study supported for those looking to develop additional expertise.
Qualifications Needed:
- Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong general practice capabilities
- Competence across routine medical investigations and surgical procedures
- Confidence providing clinical guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues
- Ability to uphold consistently high standards of patient care
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative leadership approach
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Guide junior veterinary colleagues through cases and day-to-day clinical development
- Maintain high standards across medical and surgical patient care
- Take an active role in clinical decision-making and case management
- Perform consultations, diagnostics and surgical procedures across a varied caseload
- Support the continued development of clinical protocols and standards
