Small Animal Lead Night Vet Surgeon Job, Kensington, London, England

Small Animal Lead Night Vet Surgeon Job, Kensington, London, England

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon to take on a rewarding emergency and critical care position within a busy 24-hour small animal setting. This role is well suited to a confident clinician who enjoys managing varied urgent cases, providing calm decision-making overnight, and supporting high standards of patient and client care.

The position offers a structured night rota with extended time away from work, creating a strong balance between clinical challenge and personal downtime. You will be working with modern facilities, an experienced clinical team, and a caseload that allows continued development in emergency medicine, inpatient care, and critical case management.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing overnight emergency consultations, procedures, and inpatient care with confidence
  • Creating clear treatment plans and communicating updates effectively with clients
  • Supporting smooth clinical handovers for ongoing or enhanced patient care
  • Helping guide colleagues through complex cases and shared clinical decision-making
  • Maintaining strong clinical, operational, and professional standards throughout each shift

Qualifications Needed:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with strong small animal experience
  • Comfortable working nights and managing emergency or critical care cases
  • Able to provide clinical leadership in a calm, practical, and supportive manner
  • Confident working as part of a team while making sound independent decisions
  • Interest in continued ECC development, certificates, or advanced clinical progression

Package:

  • Attractive night rota offering 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off
  • Private medical insurance available from day one
  • Health cash plan including dental, optical, physio, and private GP support
  • Clinical CPD allowance of £1,500 per year
  • Funded certificate opportunities for further professional growth
  • RCVS, VDS, and BVA fees covered
  • Life assurance at three times salary
  • Paid additional personal leave day each year
  • Season ticket loan and Cycle to Work options available
  • Supportive overnight caseload with strong clinical development potential
