Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon to take on a rewarding emergency and critical care position within a busy 24-hour small animal setting. This role is well suited to a confident clinician who enjoys managing varied urgent cases, providing calm decision-making overnight, and supporting high standards of patient and client care.
The position offers a structured night rota with extended time away from work, creating a strong balance between clinical challenge and personal downtime. You will be working with modern facilities, an experienced clinical team, and a caseload that allows continued development in emergency medicine, inpatient care, and critical case management.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing overnight emergency consultations, procedures, and inpatient care with confidence
- Creating clear treatment plans and communicating updates effectively with clients
- Supporting smooth clinical handovers for ongoing or enhanced patient care
- Helping guide colleagues through complex cases and shared clinical decision-making
- Maintaining strong clinical, operational, and professional standards throughout each shift
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with strong small animal experience
- Comfortable working nights and managing emergency or critical care cases
- Able to provide clinical leadership in a calm, practical, and supportive manner
- Confident working as part of a team while making sound independent decisions
- Interest in continued ECC development, certificates, or advanced clinical progression
