Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join an out-of-hours team on a part-time annualised-hours rota. This role would suit a confident ECC vet who enjoys urgent case work, values a structured rota, and is comfortable managing emergency consultations, inpatient care, medical workups, and surgical cases.
The position offers a varied emergency caseload within a well-equipped clinical environment, working alongside an experienced ECC RVN and daytime reception support when required. With a 1 in 4 pattern followed by a longer rest period, this role provides strong work-life balance alongside the opportunity to continue developing emergency and critical care skills.
Qualifications Needed:
- RCVS registration or eligibility to register as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK
- Ideally 3–4+ years of small animal clinical experience
- Confident handling emergency consultations, inpatient care, diagnostics, and surgery
- Comfortable working within an out-of-hours rota with clinical autonomy
- Strong communication skills with a calm and structured approach to urgent cases
Package:
- Rota includes two weekend day shifts and seven nights
- Three weeks off following the main working block
