Job Description: Our client is looking for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital serving Westminster and the wider north Denver area. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of urgent presentations, including trauma, acute medical conditions, surgical emergencies, and critically ill patients requiring close monitoring.
Working with experienced emergency veterinarians, technicians, and support colleagues, the successful candidate will have the clinical freedom and resources needed to make timely decisions and deliver a high standard of care. The hospital values clear communication, efficient teamwork, and a calm, compassionate approach when supporting clients through stressful and often unexpected situations.
Qualifications Needed:
- Current Colorado veterinary licence in good standing.
- At least one year of experience working in an emergency veterinary practice.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor degree from an accredited university.
- DEA registration or the ability to obtain and maintain it.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Confidence managing severely ill, injured, painful, or distressed patients.
- Effective communication skills with clients, veterinarians, and hospital support staff.
- Ability to perform emergency surgical procedures appropriate to your experience.
- Professional and ethical approach to patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Capacity to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented hospital.
- Commitment to continuing education and ongoing clinical development.
- Ability to complete physically demanding duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
