Job Description: Our client is seeking a Casual Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a dedicated ICU team in Underwood, Queensland. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian with experience or strong interest in ECC and ICU medicine who wants to deepen their critical care capability in a structured, supportive, and high-performing environment.
The role offers exposure to complex ICU cases, including post-surgical patients, trauma presentations, multi-system disease, ventilation, advanced monitoring, and tailored treatment planning. With experienced ECC clinicians, skilled nursing support, and structured training pathways, this position provides an excellent platform for a vet looking to build ICU confidence quickly while maintaining casual flexibility.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing complex ICU patients across trauma, post-surgical, and multi-system disease cases
- Developing tailored treatment plans for critically ill small animal patients
- Delivering advanced monitoring, stabilisation, and critical care interventions
- Collaborating closely with ECC veterinarians, clinical leaders, and nursing teams
- Supporting a culture of clinical excellence, learning, and calm decision-making
Qualifications Needed:
- Veterinary degree with eligibility to practise in Australia
- Experience or strong interest in ECC and ICU medicine
- Confidence working in high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong communication skills with colleagues, clients, and nursing teams

Package:
- Casual ICU veterinarian position with immediate start available
- Flexible casual shifts to suit lifestyle and availability
- 8 to 10 hour shifts only
- Hourly rate from $60 to $95 plus super, depending on experience
