Job Description: Our client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy, multidisciplinary veterinary hospital delivering advanced emergency and critical care for companion animals. Working alongside ten veterinarians, fifteen Registered Veterinary Technicians and thirty veterinary assistants, the successful candidate will benefit from exceptional clinical support and the opportunity to develop expertise across a broad range of emergency cases.
The position offers access to an impressive 7,500-square-foot facility featuring six consultation rooms, two surgical suites and an extensive treatment area. Advanced equipment includes mechanical ventilators, anaesthetic monitoring systems, portable and diagnostic ultrasound, oxygen cages, endoscopy equipment, digital radiography and fluoroscopy. Additional imaging services, including CT, MRI and scintigraphy, are conveniently available nearby. With specialist expertise spanning surgery, internal medicine, critical care, neurology and cardiology, the role provides valuable opportunities for interdisciplinary case management, continuous learning and the delivery of high-quality emergency medicine.
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent recognised veterinary qualification from an accredited institution.
- Current California veterinary licence in good standing or eligibility to obtain the appropriate professional registration.
- Confidence in emergency patient assessment, stabilisation, diagnostic investigations and the management of urgent medical or surgical presentations.
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills, particularly when managing complex cases and discussing treatment options with pet owners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with specialist veterinarians, veterinary technicians and support professionals while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
