Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a 24-hour emergency and primary care hospital in Sacramento, California. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys a hybrid schedule across emergency and general practice shifts, with access to a large, modern facility and a highly capable clinical team.
The role offers a varied caseload in a 25,000 square foot hospital with a dedicated ICU, two surgical suites, two ultrasound units, spacious treatment areas, and 16 exam rooms. With daily ultrasound support, cardiology access, strong collaboration, and a schedule of three to four shifts per week, this position provides a strong setting for a clinician who values advanced medicine, teamwork, and continued professional growth.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing emergency and primary care cases across a busy small animal hospital
- Assessing, stabilising, diagnosing, and treating urgent and routine presentations
- Collaborating with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to deliver high-quality care
- Using advanced diagnostics, ICU resources, ultrasound support, and surgical facilities
- Communicating clearly with clients to build trust and support informed care decisions
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an accredited university
- Current or eligible veterinary licensure in California
- Strong interest or experience in emergency and primary care medicine
- Commitment to high standards of medicine, ethics, and patient care
- Collaborative approach with excellent communication and client relationship skills
Package:

- Annual salary from $150,000 to $250,000, based on experience and credentials
