Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy emergency setting focused on high-quality urgent and critical care. This full-time position offers a consistent swing-shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, making it well suited to a veterinarian who enjoys emergency medicine, independent clinical decision-making and collaborative case discussion.

The successful candidate will manage a varied emergency caseload alongside experienced veterinarians and a highly trained support team. The role involves comprehensive examinations, diagnostic work-ups, emergency procedures, surgery where appropriate and clear communication with pet owners throughout the treatment process. A Medical Director pathway may also be available for suitably experienced candidates.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and stabilising emergency patients across a wide range of presentations
  • Performing diagnostic procedures, treatment planning and surgery when clinically required
  • Communicating clearly with clients regarding findings, options and ongoing care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and appropriate prescribing protocols
  • Working closely with veterinary and technical colleagues to support efficient patient flow

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary institution
  • Current Washington veterinary licence with ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration
  • At least one year of veterinary emergency experience
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a calm and collaborative approach
