Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced and confident Emergency Veterinarian to join a growing urgent care setting dedicated to delivering exceptional medical and surgical treatment for companion animals. This opportunity is particularly suited to a clinician who enjoys managing challenging emergency presentations, making timely clinical decisions and providing compassionate care during critical situations. With spacious facilities and access to advanced diagnostic resources, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload while contributing to the continued development of emergency veterinary services.

The clinical environment features modern surgical facilities, advanced dental equipment, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and an in-house laboratory, supporting comprehensive investigation and treatment of urgent cases. Working alongside experienced veterinary professionals and an enthusiastic Medical Director who values teaching, the successful applicant will benefit from practical mentorship, collaborative case discussions and opportunities to expand expertise in emergency medicine, diagnostic imaging and surgery.

This position also provides the opportunity to contribute to animal welfare initiatives and support pets requiring urgent veterinary attention. With clinical services operating seven days a week between midday and 11pm, the role offers exposure to varied emergency presentations without overnight operating hours. Extensive continuing education opportunities and involvement in developing clinical services make this an appealing prospect for a veterinarian seeking professional progression and a rewarding long-term career.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing emergency presentations and initiating appropriate stabilisation, diagnostic investigations and treatment plans
  • Performing urgent medical and surgical procedures while maintaining excellent standards of patient safety
  • Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory findings to guide effective clinical decisions
  • Communicating treatment options and patient progress clearly to pet owners during challenging circumstances
  • Collaborating with veterinary nursing professionals to coordinate emergency care and improve clinical workflows

Package:

  • A substantial incentive package valued at up to $50,000, with eligible components determined by individual circumstances
  • Unlimited continuing education opportunities covering conferences, practical workshops and online veterinary courses
  • Access to experienced clinical mentorship with guidance from a Medical Director passionate about professional teaching
  • Financial support for RECOVER veterinary CPR certification and subsequent recertification
  • Modern emergency treatment facilities equipped for advanced imaging, surgery and comprehensive diagnostic investigations
  • Opportunities to develop additional expertise in emergency medicine, surgical techniques and diagnostic ultrasound
  • A collaborative clinical environment encouraging independent judgement and shared approaches to complex cases
  • Exposure to a broad range of urgent veterinary presentations and opportunities to support animal welfare initiatives
  • Long-term professional development opportunities with involvement in expanding and improving emergency clinical services
  • A seven-day clinical service operating between 12pm and 11pm, without overnight opening hours
