Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a supportive and experienced emergency team in Moonah, Hobart. This permanent part-time opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian with ECC experience, or a strong interest in emergency and critical care, who wants to grow within a well-equipped hospital environment while maintaining work-life harmony.

The role offers a varied emergency caseload, advanced clinical technology, and support from experienced veterinarians, skilled nurses, specialist-trained client care representatives, and a leadership team committed to professional development. With on-the-job learning, external training, and flexible roster structures, this position provides an excellent pathway for a clinician looking to strengthen their ECC career.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing emergency and critical care presentations across small animal patients
  • Assessing, stabilising, and treating a wide range of urgent and time-sensitive cases
  • Working closely with veterinarians, nurses, and client care teams to deliver smooth patient care
  • Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients during stressful situations
  • Contributing to a collaborative, positive, and patient-first emergency hospital culture

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
  • Current or eligible registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board in Australia
  • Ideally three or more years post-graduation experience
  • One to two years of ECC experience preferred, though all suitable applicants considered
  • Strong communication, client management, teamwork, and emergency case-handling skills
