Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian Job, Littleton, Colorado, USA

Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian Job, Littleton, Colorado, USA

Job Description: Our client is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to join a busy 24/7 small animal hospital providing emergency care for cats and dogs. This AAHA-accredited setting brings general practice, emergency and specialty services together, giving the successful veterinarian access to a broad clinical environment supported by experienced veterinary colleagues and modern facilities.

The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, laparoscopy and orthopedic surgical capabilities, allowing emergency clinicians to investigate and manage a varied range of urgent presentations. The role would suit a veterinarian who enjoys fast-paced medicine, collaborative case management and delivering calm, compassionate care when pets and their owners need it most.

A distinctive overnight rota provides three approximately 14-hour shifts followed by seven days off, creating extended periods away from clinical duties while maintaining a full-time emergency position.

Qualifications Needed:

  • DVM degree from an accredited veterinary institution or equivalent qualification
  • Colorado veterinary licensure in good standing, or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure
  • Strong interest in small animal emergency and urgent-care medicine
  • Ability to make confident clinical decisions within a fast-paced overnight environment
  • Commitment to excellent patient care, teamwork and professional veterinary standards

Package:

  • Full-time overnight emergency position
  • Three approximately 14-hour shifts followed by seven days off
  • Sign-on and longevity bonuses available for eligible candidates
  • Access to digital radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy and advanced surgical capabilities
  • Continuing education allowance with paid continuing education days
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer contribution
  • Paid parental, vacation and sick leave
  • Generous employee pet care discounts
  • Collaborative environment combining emergency, specialty and general practice services
