Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a modern 24-hour emergency and referral hospital offering both full-time and part-time flexibility. This opportunity is ideal for an ER clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment while working alongside a highly skilled and collaborative clinical team.

The position provides exposure to a diverse emergency and critical care caseload within a purpose-built facility supported by advanced specialty services. Veterinarians seeking professional growth, strong clinical resources, and the opportunity to practice emergency medicine at a high level in Atlantic Canada will find this role especially rewarding.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emergency assessment, stabilization, and treatment for critical small animal patients  
  • Managing urgent medical and surgical presentations in collaboration with the ER team  
  • Supporting ICU case care and monitoring hospitalized emergency patients  
  • Communicating clearly with clients during high-pressure situations and guiding case decisions  
  • Working collaboratively across rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and overnights

Qualifications Needed:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent qualification)  
  • Eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Canada  
  • Confidence handling emergency presentations and critical care decision-making  
  • Strong communication skills and calm approach in urgent clinical settings 
  • Interest in collaborative referral-level emergency medicine and continued development
